I am an experienced care worker who strives to provide an excellent level of care to all activities I can complete. I have worked within the community as well as in an office setting for care. I have been a team supervisor and care coordinator, along side being a carer. I am an individual who takes pride in being able to give back to the generations that gave to myself. I have a numerous amount of years experience within the care sector and I am looking to expand those years as an individual care worker and helping individuals access and enjoy their communities.

I am based in RCT and my 'Home Gallery Visits’ is a friendly home visit service where I bring exhibitions and associated books, memorabilia and photography to those unable to get out and about to visit galleries or museums. The visits use visual art and artifacts to open up conversations and inspire reminiscences. They bring exhibitions to people and make them feel involved in what is going on around them. I can also support people to create their own artwork or responses to what they see - which can then be shared in my gallery. These visits help tackle a sense of isolation, help people feel connected to others and improve their sense of well-being by supporting them to express themselves creatively. My service can be accessed by private customers/clients or through the council via direct payments. I also visit groups in shared homes.

Night help

Care Provision

Hello my name is Nicola and I have 30 years’ experience of working with the elderly. I have had several roles in my career with almost 15 years of being the supervisor of night staff that travelled around by night carrying out toileting calls etc. The night service came to an end November 2023 and I believe it is needed, so I am offering full nights or even part nights and also evenings for families to have some sleep by night. I can do sits through the night, all night or even for a few hours e.g. if someone just wanted a call for half the night to allow carers to get some sleep. I know how important sleep is needed when being a full time carer to someone. I am also offering evening sits up to whatever time is required for carers to be able to leave the house and feel relaxed knowing their loved one was being cared for. Also other tasks that may be needed through the night e.g. toileting calls, check in calls. I have a vast amount of experience and knowledge and can provide DBS

I have many years’ experience of helping people to bathe, shower and get dressed. I understand that this can be very awkward and uncomfortable for some people but I can assure you that I will help you to feel as comfortable as possible and help you in a way that is right for you. I can help with your shopping. I can either do the shopping for you, take you to the shop so that you can do your own shopping or I can help you to do an online shop for delivery. I can help with cleaning, cooking, laundry, ironing. Anything that you want to make, we will give it a go together. I am a great listener and will just have a chat and a cuppa with you if you just need some company. We can look through old photographs or just chat about the soaps. I can help you to do your hobbies and will always join in if you want me to. I can take you to any groups or activities that you would like to go to. I will not do everything for you as I know how important it is to stay independent.
