A purpose-built day centre for those who are blind or partially sighted. Members do not have to be registered, the only requirement being that they suffer from some degree of visual impairment. There is a homely, relaxed atmosphere where our visitors can meet and socialise. Frequent outings are arranged, such as shopping trips and occasional theatre excursions. Members may attend as little or as often as they wish. Members attending the day centre pay a small fee each day to help towards the cost of transport, lunch and refreshments, and bathing if required. Hairdressing and chiropody are charged for separately. All social activities are free and everyone is encouraged to participate in events should they wish, although a quiet area is available for those who do not wish to take part. Members are collected by minibus - two are equipped with a tail lift to make it easier for members to get in and out of the vehicle, even with a wheelchair.
