• What does Tribe do?

  Tribe connects people in the local community who are seeking support, things to do, or ways to meet others, with volunteers and with activities such as events, groups and clubs that meet their needs or appeal to their interests. Choosing Tribe gives you access to a wide range of local support from your community that fits with how you like to live your life, providing independence and helping you to live in the place you call home longer. Support includes both paid and voluntary support, access to events, groups and other activities.

• How much does Tribe cost for support providers?

  Using Tribe, care providers can charge a competitive rate. We charge a 5% fee for every payment made to cover running costs. The 5% is much lower than comparable services, so you keep more of your fee. If you are paid via Tribe, there is a 45p standard charge to withdraw funds.

• How much does it cost to advertise a service or group?

  Nothing. There are no monthly fees, no annual charges.

• What if I'm unhappy with my service?

  If there is an issue between a support recipient and support provider we encourage both to discuss any issues if you are comfortable doing so. Explain what you are unhappy about and see if you can work together to find a solution. If you remain unhappy you can end your contract and if appropriate report to Tribe and the local authorities.
  
  If a support provider has concerns about a support recipient, they should decide if it is appropriate to do a safeguarding report to their local council safeguarding team.

  Please report any issues via the Tribe Resolution Centre (on the app or website) and/or to your local council safeguarding team. Their contact details will be on the council website.

• Who employs me?

  Support providers are self-employed. Please ensure you remain up to date with legal requirements as a self employed worker. Employment status manual: care workers.

• How much can I get paid?

  This depends on the type of support you are providing and the demand in your area. You set your own fee, which will take into account the fees set by other support providers and also the level of the local authority payments available for support. You can provide your support to self-funders as well as people funded by the local authority.

• What do I do if I am concerned that someone is compromising the safety and well-being of the person I support?

  Before working with Tribe, please ensure you read our Client Safeguarding Guide. Safeguarding training is available on the Tribe Training Portal.
  
  If you have concerns regarding any support recipient, please report this immediately to your council’s safeguarding team. Their contact details will be on the council website. You can also find information about your local council in the Tribe app and report any issues.
