They are seeking volunteers to sell items to customers in their Uckfield shop, and take payments in cash or by card. The role requires contact with customers. Full training will be given in the use of the till and card machine (neither of which is complex), and there will always be a paid member of staff available if you run into any problems. Hours are by arrangement. The shop is open 6 days a week, 9-00 to 4-00. Volunteers would work hours convenient to them. Some of their current volunteers offer half a day a week, others a couple of hours here and there – they are grateful for the support volunteers can offer. It would also be useful to have people who could cover for illness or holidays, sometimes at short notice. They are happy to talk to potential volunteers about how their available time can be used.
