The Coroner for the county of East Sussex is responsible for investigating sudden or suspicious deaths and establishing the causes of such deaths. In some instances, the Coroner may determine the cause of death after consultation with the doctor of the deceased, while in others a post mortem examination is necessary. In some cases, a full inquest will be necessary and under certain circumstances a jury will need to be called to come to a verdict. For inquests venues please contact the Coroner's Office.
Please contact HM Senior Coroner of East Sussex to get more information about their availability.
