We are a therapeutic service for children, young people and a support service to families that have experienced Abuse and Trauma. We use the definition of trauma as, 'Trauma is the response to a deeply distressing or disturbing event that overwhelms an individuals ability to cope, causes feelings of helplessness, diminishes their sense of self and their ability to feel the full range of emotions and experiences'. We provide a child centres practice, with our therapeutic approach grounded in the use of creative therapeutic techniques, ie: sand tray, painting, play, puppets, storytelling and games to support a child or young person find their way to communicate and tell their story. We also use Equine Assisted Therapy/Learning, CATT (Children's Accelerated Trauma Technique) and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).
