Rye Harbour Sailability (RHS) is a registered charity enabling people with additional support needs to enjoy the fun and freedom of being on the water. Based at Rye Harbour, we offer regular sessions from April to October. Participants can enjoy sailing on our boats or, for those who feel less confident or use wheelchairs or walkers, to spend time on our new accessible Wheelyboat. Every session is supported by an experienced skipper and crew, overseen by a Royal Yachting Association Senior Instructor, with a safety boat always nearby. Our charity is run entirely by volunteers. During each sailing day - held once or twice a month throughout the season - we cater for 30 or more people, including both sailors and volunteers. Refreshments and food are available to purchase, creating a welcoming social environment for everyone to get to know each other and share experiences together. Outside the sailing season, we continue to support our community by hosting social events.
