Befriending and Respite Volunteer – Association of Carers has indicated that they are available on the following dates and times.
Befriending and Respite volunteers are there to meet with someone in need of care, giving the carer a few hours for themselves. The role is socialising, offering them an ear, maybe playing a game. The Association tries to match volunteers with those who hold similar interests. The role is roughly 3 hours a week. A DBS check is required, which The Association of Carers will apply for on your behalf. Only those aged 18 or over are suitable. Mileage and expenses are paid for. Full training will be given.
